[jmovie] hidden fortress remake

WANT.

Also, didn't know that Sukiyaki Western Django had Oguri Shun in the cast. Wasn't planning to check it out before, but I guess I am now ^_^
Higuchi’s The Hidden Fortress: The Last Princess stars Jun Matsumoto as the rough-edged, independent miner Takezo, a man who has little to no respect for Japan’s noble families and the samurai who protect them. In an ironic twist of fate, he is joined by a fleeing princess in disguise (played by Masami Nagasawa) and her samurai bodyguard (Hiroshi Abe) as well as a fellow peasant conspirator (Daisuke Miyagawa) as they attempt to smuggle the defeated Akizuki kingdom’s wealth across enemy lines. While there are many nods to Kurosawa’s original story, Higuchi and screenwriter Kazuki Nakashima have added excitement in the form of exploding fortresses and thrilling sword fights that pay homage to George Lucas and his lightsaber duels, everything that a 21st century audience expects from its action films.

[oguri shun] the unholy marriage
Sep. 7th, 2007 | 07:09 am
Oguri Shun, doing a documentary about Russia, tries out the experience of a Russian bath...with a Russian bear dude. (Ever so slightly NSFW)
It's quite funny 'cause Shun is all gung-ho about it, but at the same time, how sad that the Russian guy got to see more of Shun than any fangirl ever will.
Good Friday to you too!

[jyu-oh-sei] zagi in all his sexiness
Sep. 28th, 2006 | 11:08 am
DVD 3 arrived today! BUT DVD 2 is still MIA!? WTF. So I get Zagi before Third? They said to wait up to 8 weeks for airmail, but if I don't get Third by next payday, I'm ordering myself another copy.
The Fangirl Apt. of Doom needs an R2 player STAT. 'Cause I mean, the LOVE COM movie with English subtitles needs to be watched. Teppei in all his cuteness will be so worth the money.
And if my roommate does get the Titus Andronicus DVD (with Shun) as she threatens to do, it'll be cute Japanese boy heaven...!

[jyu-oh-sei] episode 4
May. 5th, 2006 | 07:48 am
[Episode 4] is out early this week. YAY YAY! What an awesome thing to see on a Friday.
I know Third =/= Oguri Shun, but things got a little heated this episode around that I think my early morning fangirl shriek woke up my roommate's cat.
( DO NOT CLICK IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW. I'M SERIOUS ABOUT THIS. WE'RE TAKING MAJOR SPOILERS FOR EP4 HERE. )

[jyu-oh-sei] his name is THIRD, yo
Apr. 24th, 2006 | 02:38 pm
SUPER EDIT: Thanks to
solidark who informed me that somebody subbed EP1 [here]
Also, interesting [Animesuki thread] about the series, just skip past the pointless argument about whether or not this series should be called a "josei sci-fi" series. Pedantic discussions about classifications of JP manga genres shall now and forever be BORING.
---
To ANN editors:
Why did you change Oguri Shun's character's name back to Saad in your database? It's romanized as Third, which, if you knew anything about this series would make perfect sense since he's rank third in their clan. Also, all the Japanese magazines clearly romanize the name as Third.
But because of you all the crazy fangirls would start calling him Saad and that makes me SAD.
With much dismay,
-A
It's Fai/Fye/Fay all over again.

Anyway, from AOD:

Anyway, from AOD:
Itsuki Natsumi (author of Eight Clouds) is writing new chapters for her SF-manga Jyu-Oh-Sei (which is being adapted to a TV-anime by Bones starting in April). First chapter of two (to be included in the upcoming HC kanzenban edition of the manga) starts in next issue of Melody, called Death Game and focuses on the character Zagi. Yay!

[hanadan] boxes and more boxes
Mar. 17th, 2006 | 10:32 am
Hanadan jdrama box = ~$200
Hanadan LE anime box (first time on DVD for Japan, btw) = ~$406.00
Seeing that my Japanese penmanship is better than Oguri Shun's = priceless
If she draws new art/covers for the anime box, somebody please restrain me (and my CC) from buying it.

[oguri shun] i love it when fandoms converge
Nov. 12th, 2005 | 10:19 am
Did anybody know that Oguri Shun was the voice of Alphonse Heiderich in the FMA movie? I haven't been involved (actively or passively) in the FMA fandom for over a year, but wow, that's incentive to want to watch the movie.
I should really post about something (or somebody) else.

Because the best part of an obsesssion is taking it and seeing how far you can run with it before you collapse in a sated puddle of goo.
